Our History

Past

Sunrise Electronic Distributing Company, now known as "digitalSunrise" and "Sunrise Electronics and Computers," was formed in 1973 by Frank and Cheryl Stearn. Our company began as a Lafayette radio dealer in a storefront in downtown Chambersburg.

With the introduction of the personal computer and exciting new technologies, "Sunrise Computers" was introduced to Chambersburg in 1983. Sunrise Computers opened in the same shopping center selling only computers and related equipment. Sunrise Electronics and Sunrise Computers became known throughout the area for providing quality products and excellent service. 

In October of 1999, Sunrise Electronic Distributing Company began a reorganization to proactively serve our retail customers and business partners. The division of Sunrise Computers that serves business, education and government customers became known as "digitalSunrise". The staff and resources at both digitalSunrise locations in Chambersburg and Camp Hill are focused solely to meet the information system needs of their business customers through sales, service, network integration, and training. "Sunrise Electronics" and "Sunrise Computers" combined their showrooms, their experience and their expertise to become "Sunrise Electronics and Computers".

Sunrise Electronics and Computers, located in Chambersburg, continues to offer the finest in home audio systems, home theater systems, and computer equipment along with professional installation and repair services for retail customers. 

On January 1, 2008, Sunrise Electronics and Computers acquired new owners as the previous owners decided to retire after 34 years in the business.  The company was purchased by four employees of the company.  They decided to relocate the company at 1805 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA.  This was accomplished after the new location was renovated to accommodate the business.

Future

The staff and management at digitalSunrise and Sunrise Electronics and Computers are very excited about these changes and our new focus. All of our customers - from longtime customers to our newest clients - can rest assured that as we continue to change to keep pace with technological changes, it will always be our goal to provide you with top-notch services and products.
